Back in August I was craving some time away. I knew I didn’t need much, even just a night away would fill my cup. After talking with some of my girlfriends I could tell they were feeling the same way, let’s be honest, the past 7 months have been challenging to say the least. I knew we needed to stay close to home, for a couple of them it was going to be their first night away from their babies. With that said I also knew it needed to be extra special. When I started brainstorming, I had the idea of “exploring in our own backyard” and then I saw an Instagram post for the Atticus Hotel. I was quickly reminded how badly I wanted to visit the hotel and taste wine in the area. So, last weekend my dearest friends and I packed up our weekender bags and headed to McMinnville, Oregon to stay at the beatiful Atticus Hotel. The Atticus is located in the heart of downtown McMinnville; walking distance from wine bars, delicious restaurants and great boutique shopping.

Upon arriving to the hotel we were greeted by the friendliest staff and blown away by the beauty of the hotel; they had thought of every detail.
During a time that exploring is saturated with uncertainty, the Atticus Hotel set my mind at ease, I was impressed by their concern for the health and safety of their guests and employees.

Immediately after we checked in we were offered a glass of champagne, it was the perfect start to our mom-cation.
We stayed in the Studio Luxe Suite and it was a great space for our party of four. The suite has a king bed and a queen size sofa sleeper. The bedding was luxurious and extremely cozy and the bathroom was beautiful, it was pink!
After checking in, the girls and I went wine tasting which was just a short drive away and then made our way back to the hotel for a fun night of dinner, drinks and walking the streets.

After a wonderful nights stay we packed up and headed downstairs to the lobby for brunch at Red Hills Kitchen. I knew it was going to be delicious because I love Red Hills Market. It’s one of my favorite places to stop when I’m in Dundee. It did not disappoint. We devoured fresh donuts, hot coffee, and a delicious meal. They focus on being fresh, local and seasonal so their menu is always changing, however, I had the Benedict (sub salmon for bacon) and it was phenomenal. Brunch in a beautiful setting was the perfect way to end our stay!
