Activewear Favorites

January 7, 2021

Today I’m sharing some of my tried and true favorite activewear pieces, from shoes to sports bras, I’ve got you covered! With so many brands out there it can be a bit overwhelming to find just what you’re looking for. I’ve tried so many things and today I’m breaking down just a few of my favorites. But let me tell you about what I looking for in good work out gear.

  1. I need my leggings to stay put. Right now I’m liking leggings with a small elastic band around the top!
  2. 7/8th Leggings is a MUST. I don’t like crop and Im not a fan of full length. My ankles need to breathe and I think 7/8th is the most flattering fit.
  3. Sports bra’s that can handle medium to high impact.
  4. Shoes that are lightweight, not super restrictive and comfortable. Cute is a bonus!
  5. Breathable! I’m not here for the cotton tops.
  6. I love cute details!

First I want to tell you about a brand I’ve been wearing for the past 4+ months, SAVVI Savvi is a lifestyle brand but I’ve really fallen in love with their activewear pieces. The quality is top notch, the designs are on point and they’re great for my work outs. I love that they drop new items every Friday and they’re constantly working to restock the number one best sellers! Not to mention, they carry a wide range of sizes! XS up to 3X in some items. Today I want to highlight their Trainer Legging, Femme X3 Sports Bra and Noor Jogger. All three items have quickly become favorites of mine! When you click on the links to the items, it will take you directly to the SAVVI website, from there just click on SHOP, then select FIT and then on the left hand column you’ll see an option for leggings and sports bras.

Above you are seeing the The Trainer legging in nude. It runs TTS (wearing a small), I love the nice high rise, wide waist band with a skinny elastic no slip waist, and the mesh detail along the bottom is a great detail! These are a major win for me. I’ve worn them for runs and hit work outs, they did not move! These leggings are being restocked tomorrow, Friday 1/8, I can’t wait to get my hands on The Trainer in Black!

Next up is the Femme X3 Sports Bra. I have it in two colors and love it. It’s great for medium to high impact work outs (for me). I generally size up in sports bra and this one is no different. I’m wearing a medium.

Lastly, my favorite joggers; The Noor. These joggers hug in all the right places (like the boot-ay), they’re comfortable and flattering, they run TTS and will quickly become your grab and go athleisure pant.

A few more of my favorites from more well known brands are definitely these:

My shoes! Hands down my favorite. These Adidas are lightweight, have a wide toe box and are so comfortable. I enjoy them when I’m running, lifting and HIIT work outs. This shoe comes in a handful of colors and prints but this exact color is on sale! I wear a 6.5/7 and got a 6.5 in these. They fit great!

Work out tops. I love a good work out top especially one with a little bit of detail, however, I’m not a huge fan of anything that feels to cotton-y when I’m working out. It just doesn’t feel right. I’ve had great luck with a few tops from Amazon, some from LuLuLemon, and Nike. Here are a few of my favorites from those retailers:

I’ve linked up a few of my Amazon work out tops, like these tie back t-shirt above and a really great medium impact sports bra that I love on my Amazon Store Front.

Here are just a few more work out tops I love:

Lastly, I couldn’t end this this post without sharing my favorite budget friendly leggings by Old Navy! They’re the black pair of leggings I’m wearing above. I kid you not, these budget friendly leggings are must try! I have 3 pairs. They stay put, their lightweight, come in so many colors and check all the boxes. They’re under $40 and run TTS.

I hope you found this post helpful! Leave a comment if you have any questions!

Exploring Oregon wine country with my girls

October 11, 2020

Back in August I was craving some time away. I knew I didn’t need much, even just a night away would fill my cup. After talking with some of my girlfriends I could tell they were feeling the same way, let’s be honest, the past 7 months have been challenging to say the least. I knew we needed to stay close to home, for a couple of them it was going to be their first night away from their babies. With that said I also knew it needed to be extra special. When I started brainstorming, I had the idea of “exploring in our own backyard” and then I saw an Instagram post for the Atticus Hotel. I was quickly reminded how badly I wanted to visit the hotel and taste wine in the area. So, last weekend my dearest friends and I packed up our weekender bags and headed to McMinnville, Oregon to stay at the beatiful Atticus Hotel. The Atticus is located in the heart of downtown McMinnville; walking distance from wine bars, delicious restaurants and great boutique shopping.

Upon arriving to the hotel we were greeted by the friendliest staff and blown away by the beauty of the hotel; they had thought of every detail.

During a time that exploring is saturated with uncertainty, the Atticus Hotel set my mind at ease, I was impressed by their concern for the health and safety of their guests and employees.

Immediately after we checked in we were offered a glass of champagne, it was the perfect start to our mom-cation.

We stayed in the Studio Luxe Suite and it was a great space for our party of four. The suite has a king bed and a queen size sofa sleeper. The bedding was luxurious and extremely cozy and the bathroom was beautiful, it was pink!

After checking in, the girls and I went wine tasting which was just a short drive away and then made our way back to the hotel for a fun night of dinner, drinks and walking the streets.

After a wonderful nights stay we packed up and headed downstairs to the lobby for brunch at Red Hills Kitchen. I knew it was going to be delicious because I love Red Hills Market. It’s one of my favorite places to stop when I’m in Dundee. It did not disappoint. We devoured fresh donuts, hot coffee, and a delicious meal. They focus on being fresh, local and seasonal so their menu is always changing, however, I had the Benedict (sub salmon for bacon) and it was phenomenal. Brunch in a beautiful setting was the perfect way to end our stay!

Be sure to check out the Atticus Hotel Instagram page and website.

Thank you so much to the Atticus Hotel for hosting us, I can’t wait to return. This review is all my own opinions and experience.
